Accessibility Statement
Effective date: April 2026 — Version 1.0
Our Commitment
PeptideWise (this website) and PeptideTracker (our mobile app) aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our conformance target. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time checklist, and we test new features against this standard before release.
What We Do
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so pages are navigable by screen readers.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, forms, and interactive components — including calculators and the menu.
- Color contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text, verified against a real color-contrast checker.
- Meaningful alt text on informative images; decorative images marked as such.
- Focus indicators that remain visible when navigating with a keyboard.
- Responsive layouts that work at 400% zoom and on small viewports.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
We test against current versions of:
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- TalkBack on Android (for PeptideTracker)
- NVDA and JAWS on Windows (for the website)
- Keyboard-only navigation in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge
Known Limitations
We track accessibility gaps openly. Current known issues we are working to resolve:
- Brand accent teal (#00BFA6): this color has a 2.33:1 contrast ratio on white, which does not meet the 4.5:1 threshold for body text. We only use it for non-text accents (icons, gradient rules, decorative borders). If we ever need it for text on a light background we will switch to
#008C7A(or darker) to meet contrast. - Embedded research tables: some historical tables in blog posts are missing row/column headers. We are auditing content and adding them as part of ongoing content maintenance.
- PDF exports from PeptideTracker: CSV exports are fully screen-reader friendly; future PDF exports will be tagged for assistive technologies before release.
Reporting a Problem
If you hit a barrier using PeptideWise or PeptideTracker — broken keyboard navigation, unreadable contrast, missing alt text, anything — please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as priority fixes.
Email contact@getpeptidewise.com with the subject line prefix [Accessibility]. Please include:
- The page URL or app screen where you encountered the issue.
- The assistive technology, browser, and operating system you were using.
- A short description of what went wrong and what you expected.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days.
Formal Complaints
If you are based in the European Union and are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the accessibility enforcement body in your country. In the United States, the U.S. Access Board provides information on filing accessibility complaints under Section 508 and the ADA at access-board.gov.
Standards and Legal Context
This statement is written in the spirit of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We conform to WCAG 2.1 AA; we monitor WCAG 2.2 and expect to align with it as tooling and test coverage catches up.
