About PeptideWise

PeptideWise is a free, educational resource dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based information about peptides and peptide research. Our goal is to make scientific literature accessible to researchers, students, and curious readers alike.

Our Mission

We believe that accurate, well-organized information should be freely available to anyone seeking to understand the science behind peptides. Each peptide profile on this site is compiled from peer-reviewed research and presented in a clear, structured format.

We hold a conservative, evidence-first editorial position. Read more about our philosophy on the Our Approach to Health page.

What We Cover

Our profiles cover a broad range of peptides across multiple categories including healing and recovery, anti-aging, cognitive enhancement, performance, immune support, weight management, sexual health, and sleep. Each profile includes an overview, mechanism of action, potential benefits, known side effects, dosage information from research contexts, current research status, and legal considerations.

Our Editorial Process

Every peptide profile on this site goes through a four-step process:

  1. Research. We identify and review peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed literature for the compound. We read primary sources — not secondary summaries or community-generated content.
  2. Write. Content is structured according to our standard template: overview, mechanism, evidence-graded benefits, side effects, dosage from research, legal status, and references. Evidence level is assigned based on the research landscape.
  3. Review. Profiles are reviewed for accuracy, appropriate caveats, and compliance with our editorial standards before publication.
  4. Update.Profiles are reviewed on a scheduled basis and updated when significant new research is published. All articles display a "last updated" date.

Source Standards

We rely exclusively on peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed research as our primary source material. We do not cite:

  • Vendor websites, supplement company blogs, or commercial sources
  • Anecdotal reports, forum posts, or community protocols
  • Preprints that have not undergone peer review
  • Secondary summaries that do not link to original research

Where evidence is limited, we say so. Limitations of study design — small sample sizes, animal models, industry funding — are noted in context. Animal study results are presented separately from human trial results and are never used to imply human efficacy.

Evidence Grading

Every profile carries one of four evidence ratings, reflecting the quality and type of research available for that compound:

Level A — FDA Approved
Completed Phase III human clinical trials; FDA-approved for at least one indication. Example: PT-141 (Vyleesi) for hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
Level B — Human Trials Completed
Human clinical trial data exists, with or without regulatory approval. Example: Thymosin Alpha-1, with human immunology trial data.
Level C — Limited Human Data
Small human pilot studies or limited pharmacokinetic data, with most evidence still preclinical. Example: CJC-1295, with some human data on GH response.
Level D — Animal and In Vitro Only
No completed human clinical trials. All meaningful evidence from animal or cell culture studies. Example: BPC-157, with extensive rodent study data but no published human trials.

Conflict of Interest Statement

PeptideWise has no financial relationships with peptide manufacturers, peptide vendors, compounding pharmacies, or clinics offering peptide therapy. We do not sell peptides, peptide-related products, or access to vendors. We do not receive compensation for recommending, ranking, or featuring any compound. We do not accept sponsored content.

This site is funded independently. There are no affiliate relationships or referral arrangements with any commercial entity in this space.

Update Policy

All content is reviewed on a quarterly schedule. When significant new research is published on a compound — particularly human trial data — that profile is prioritized for immediate review and update.

All published articles display a "last updated" date. If you notice that a profile's research section does not reflect recently published work, please contact us with the relevant citation.

Report an Error

We take accuracy seriously. If you identify a factual error, a missing citation, or content that contradicts current research, please use our contact form to report it. Include the specific page, the error, and — where possible — a reference to the correct information.
